About This Program

Art educators inspire students around the world, playing a vital role in the lives of children and adults, solidifying art as a part of their daily lives. The art education program at 凤凰体育APP equips students with the knowledge, skills and experience to become professional art educators or to enter a variety of other educational professions.  Students in the Art Education MAT at 凤凰体育APP take classes specific to teaching pedagogy to satisfy requirements for certification.

What You'll Learn

The MAT is a graduate level initial teacher certification program and is designed for candidates that have an undergraduate degree in a field outside of education. Students in the Art Ed MAT program gain T-4 Certification for grades Pre-K-12 upon completion by GaPSC. All studio class requirements are met with the BFA studio degree that is a perquisite for admission.

The program utilizes a conceptual framework and principles established by Valdosta State's College of Education and focuses on standards endorsed by the National Art Education Association and NASAD.

Admissions Requirements

• BFA Studio (or similar with required 22 studio and 6 art history courses)
• Passing GACE 109 and 110
• Application GPA 2.5
• Program GAP 3.0
